Decision:
The Chief Executive has consulted the Leader
and the Portfolio Holder for Grants to Voluntary Organisations who
are content for Ostensible Authority to be used for awarding a
grant of £5,000 to be paid during the 2020/21 financial year
from the Community Fund towards the running costs of the Maybury
Centre during the Covid-19 period. The grant is conditional on
match funding of £5,000 being awarded from the SCC Hardship
Fund.
Reasons for the decision:
The majority of the income of Maybury Centre
is due to lettings and the Centre has been adversely affected due
to closure during the Covid-19 lockdown. The Maybury Centre made an
application for assistance from the Surrey County Council Hardship
Fund, which resulted in a grant offer of £5,000 from the Fund
subject to match funding from Woking Borough Council.
