Purpose:

The Council adopted the CAT policy in February 2024 and The Vyne community centre was listed as one of the assets to transfer. Following a 2-stage process conducted between July and December 2024, in line with the CAT Policy, the CAT panel recommend that Dramatize are successful and proceed with the transfer of The Vyne.
As per the Community Asset Transfer (CAT) Policy, the decision to transfer the asset was approved by the relevant member portfolio holder (in this case Cllr Steve Greentree) and
authority was delegated to the Strategic Director - Communities, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Communities, to take all necessary steps to effect this decision.

Decision:

Approved the transfer of The Vyne to the community group Dramatize and to enter into a lease agreement for the building.

Reasons for the decision:

Due to the Council's financial situation, community assets are being transferred to community groups to manage.
