That the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 8 November 2022 be approved and signed as a true and correct record.

(i)    To receive declarations of disclosable pecuniary and other interests from Members in respect of any item to be considered at the meeting.

(ii)   In accordance with the Officer Procedure Rules, any Officer who is a Council- appointed Director of a Thameswey Group company will declare an interest in any item involving that Thameswey Group company. The interest will not prevent the Officer from advising the Committee on that item.

The Committee considered an application for a proposed two storey front extension and single storey rear extension, conversion of existing garage to habitable accommodation and porch canopies to the front and side. Proposed detached garage (amendment to PLAN/2018/0339)

 

Following a query, it was noted that should the hedge at the front of the property die or be removed, the proposed garage would be highly visible on the street scene. The Planning Officer confirmed that the Design SPD generally resisted garages to the front of the property if there was no character or street scene for it.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application be REFUSED.

The Committee considered an application for the erection of single storey rear extension and front porch to West End Place following demolition of existing conservatories, erection of roof extension to Bonafide and installation of external insulation and brick cladding, replacement roof, solar panels and external alterations to both dwellings and erection of 1.8m high fence and landscaping.

 

Councillor M Whitehand, Ward Councillor welcomed this derelict property being brought back into use and providing much needed housing in the Borough.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application be GRANTED subject to conditions.
